The Nebraska State Emergency Communications Committee (NE-SECC) is responsible for updating and maintaining the State EAS Plan.

Monitoring

At this time, all broadcasters and cable companies in Nebraska are required to monitor the following two sources for EAS Alerts.

  1. The National Weather Service (NWS) radio that best serves their area.
  2. The Nebraska Educational Telecommunications Commission (NET) radio station that best serves their area.

Additionally, broadcasters and cable companies are strongly encouraged to also monitor an LP-1 station, along with NWS and NET, that serves their area.
